THE ARTWORK SHOULD BE UNPACKED AND TESTED WITHIN 30 DAYS OF RECEPTION.
In the event of damage or loss to the crate and its contents during shipment, a claim can be filed; however, all carriers and insurance policies have cutoff periods for filing.
1- Unpack & Test
1.1 Unpack:
- HD Screen
- IEC power cable
- USB drive
- HDMI cable
- Media player and its power adapter
1.2 Screen Setup:
- Place screen on pedestal (socket and plug face towards the viewer)
- Plug IEC power cable to screen.
1.3 Media Player Setup:
- Connect power adapter to media player
- Connect USB drive
1.4 Test:
- Connect HDMI cable to media player and screen
- Plug screen and media player to electric grid (100 - 240V)
- Press screen's switch ON
--> Animation will start automatically (player is on autostart)
If it doesn't, use the media player's remote control
- Use remote to turn player off.
- Disconnect media player and screen from electric grid during setup.
2- Setup
2.1 Unpack:
- White, wooden frame
- Protective glass
- Glass tetrahedrons
2.2 Install White Wooden Frame:
(2 people recommended)
Note: the opening on the lower part of the frame indicates the back of the artwork (closest to the wall)
- Carefully place the protective glass on top of the screen.
- Unscrew and remove the lid on the right side of the wooden frame.
- Slide wooden frame into position, keeping it lifted.
- Lower frame onto screen.
- Place media player on the back of the wooden frame
- Guide both power cables to the opening at the center back of the wooden frame.
- Close the lid and replace screws
2.3 Install Tetrahedrons:
- Connect both power cables to electric grid
--> Animation will start (otherwise, use remote)
- Use the remote to pause the animation at 1'07" (aprox.)
- Carefully place each tetrahedron over one of the triangles, as shown in image.
- Press play on the remote

The artwork will be best viewed under controlled lighting conditions.
For best viewing, stand should be between 80cm and 110cm high.
Depth should be 50cm or less to fit through the opening in the frame

Use brush, compressed air or dry cloth to dust protective glass and tetrahedrons.
Isopropyl alcohol can be used to clean the screen (apply gently with anti-static cloth)

8- Concept
The title of the artwork is a play on words with the Spanish translation of the title of Hitchcock's film, Rear Window // La Ventana indiscreta. It also refers to discrete data, characteristic of digital systems and opposed to continuous data of analogue systems.
Ventana Discreta presents a further exploration of reflections onto different surfaces, which allow the moving image to expand from the screen and adopt the shape of tetrahedrons. These polyhedrons are one of the 5 platonic solids, for the pythagoreans they represented the element of fire.
