Concept
Narcissus’ Selphere offers a participative experience in which users will see their image mapped onto a 3m large sphere, merged with abstract projections. The sphere is ideally located on water, in this way its reflection onto the surface of the water becomes part of the installation.
Participants are invited to stand on a platform and have their image recorded on video, which will be projected onto the sphere. Each user’s silent video message will appear on the sphere, combined with recordings of other participants and abstract visuals.
The title refers to the contemporary reading of the myth of Narcissus in the light of omnipresent selfie's and instant fame.
In the future everyone will be famous for 15 minutes
